Typewritten with carbon paper and ink ribbon on copy paper, tracing paper, Japanese paper, and kraft paper, with photographic paper cover, 40.2x30.2 cm - 2025
T56 is a unique typewritten book inspired by the theme of time and its measurement. The work originates from an encounter with the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh during a trip to Scotland in 2023. In a bookshop, I happened to open a catalog entitled The Mackintosh Style; the first image that appeared was a square clock with Roman numerals. That chance discovery became the starting point for this reflection on the clock, on time, and on how it might be represented.Through the use of typewriters, the book explores multiple ways of expressing time: from circular and square dials to Roman numerals and abstract markers, from shifting hands to layered grids and textures. The front and back covers of the typescript are composed of two photograms, emphasizing how even a material like photographic paper can embody an idea of time and temporality.
