T61 is a unique typescript that explores the material dimension of the surface through a combination of typing and painterly intervention. Pigments and mortier de structure—a dense, matte preparation made of marble powder and polymers—are introduced on selected pages, bringing thickness and resistance into the act of typing.
Applied to different types of paper—wallpaper, tracing paper, photographic paper, and standard paper—the material intervention shifts the experience of touch from the wall to the page. Through the repetition of typed marks, the motif of bricks emerges as a suggestion rather than a representation, evoking the rough, compact surface of a brick wall.
